The Peony. Fall-Winter Collection 2020 /21
The collection is the follow up of the SS 2020, continuing to draw inspiration from the Russian life, this time focusing on the beauty of nature and characteristic landmarks, without being too literal.
The colors are inspired by the rare and exotic flowers of this magnificent and surprisingly secretive land; the reds of the Peony, magenta of the Siberian lily, rust brown of the Arctic root, greens, indigo and turquoise of the Northern lights and a touch of yellow of the Caucasus tulip. There is also no shortage of vibrant red, a color symbolic of the Russian nation, but also associated with passion and power. And then, the black, of which is so much is to be found in the deep, long Winter nights.
Viktoria Varga continues to present the bold lines in a range of luxurious, noble fabrics: silks, virgin wools, cashmere and a new to the brand, vegan faux fur. Romantic in nature, the garments have splendid use of rich, handmade details: appliques, pom-poms, flounces, big bows. And playful colourful flowers – lots of hand painting.
Generous forms and cuts, combining short and midi length – variable outfits and layers like coats, pants, dresses, blouses, skirts, blazers, suits, and gowns.
The winter never felt more colorful and warm. Just like a rare flower.
