“I am inspired by women who live their own lives.

In Jan-Feb 2019 edition Marie Claire interviewed the designer of VIKTORIAVARGA BUDAPEST fashion brand. She expressed her view about fashion design, artistic creation, her belief and philosophy.

 

After a long detour Viktoria Varga has finally found her vocation and sat back to school to become a fashion designer. These great pieces raise the fashion designer as an artist. These pieces can be touched by tradition, but if you see the phantasy in them, they can be modern.

Fashion: art or business?

I prefer art to be stronger in fashion, but besides being an artist it is inevitable to be a businesswoman. So I believe that success is a combination of art and business.

Accordingly, your AW 2018 collection is also vibrant.

In my autumn winter collection, I took Marrakesh inspiration further in autumn-winter colours. Mainly used A-lines and midi length. Manual punching, organza manipulations, handcrafted applications and using laser cut details were typical.

In your designer’s ‘ars poetica’ you believe that feminine woman is becoming more and more important therefore she must be reflected.

I encourage women to dare to show themselves, they can feel beautiful and confident at any age, be proud of their success. And their look should reflect this.

Any role models?

Inspiration of mine are women who do not afraid of change and following their dream, believe in themselves. Their stories moved me forward in various situation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2938″ img_size=”full” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
